Jurassic Hour #24: RPG [Enthusiasts] Rule!

Hey kids! It’s another episode of the Jurassic Hour, part of the 8bitx radio network.
For today’s episode, we’re talking to the new Editors-in-Chief at two fantastic, RPG-centric web sites. One is Michael Cunningham (@FinalMacStorm on Twitter), the EiC at RPGamer. The other is John McCarroll (@Johngofett on Twitter), the EiC at RPGFan. These two hunks of RPG-loving meat are talking to and with each other. While you might be thinking “these guys are rivals, they must hate each other,” this episode should give you a feel for where things stand.
These two sites have been chugging along for well over a decade. As a result, we have plenty to talk about, including the challenge of keeping their respective sites looking current with all of that web 1.0/static html content sitting around, as well as managing relationships with publishers and localizers without compromising reviewers’ integrity.
We also talk about their podcasts: RPGFan’s Random Encounter and RPGamer’s RPGCast, RPG Backtrack (covering older games), and their third (newest) podcast RPG Sanctum (a topical/themed show). Now you have so much more to listen to!
The two EiCs also talk about games they’re currently playing, from CORPSE PARTY and XENOBLADE all the way to not-at-all-RPG DRIVER. Good times.
